This was big news one day in October of 2005 in Saigon. A lot of people thought the statue had shed actual tears but in actuality it was just bird turd that had landed underneath her eye... pfft.. It was funny to see people crying and praying and generally making themselves look like fools over the bird turd.

There are Christians, Catholics, Buddhists, Taoists, Conficuianists, and shamans in Vietnam but it seems that most people are a blend of them all along with belief in what westerners would call witchcraft.
